Adrian, Matthew B. (1886? - 10 May 1957)

Funeral services for Matthew B. Adrian of Fond du Lac, age 71, inventor of the X-Ray machine used for fitting shoes and several other fluoroscopic instruments, were held at Fond du Lac Tuesday morning. He died Friday from a heart ailment.

A native of Freedom, Wis., Mr. Adrian attended high school at Colby where he began experimenting with X-Ray machines. While working for a medical X-Ray firm in Fond du Lac, he hit upon the idea that led to his invention and to the establishment of the M. B. Adrian & Sons X-Ray Co.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, three brothers, three sisters and eight grand children.

Mr. Adrian was a nephew of Mrs. Lena Eder and visited her on her 80th birthday anniversary June 24, 1954. His father was Peter Adrian who owned a blacksmith shop in Colby many years ago.
