Duell, Harriet #2 (13 JUN 1877 - 18 OCT 1943)

Funeral services for Mrs. Harriet Duell, who passed away Monday, Oct. 18, due to influenza and a heart ailment after a lingering illness of a week, were held Friday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church in Greenwood. The Rev. Alex J. Abbott officiated at the service.

Harriet Mae Barnett was born 0n June 13, 1877, at Wrightstown, Brown county, Wisconsin, to Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Barnett. When three months old she moved with her parents to Cloud county, Kansas. Traveling by team, the trip lasted seven weeks. At the age of 13 years she moved to Clark county, where she has since resided. She came to Loyal in 1913 but has lived in Greenwood for the past five months. She was married to Asa A. Duell on Sept. 16, 1916, at Marshfield.

Singers at the funeral services were Mrs. Perkins, Mrs. Keiner and Mrs. Olson. Burial was in the Loyal cemetery. Pallbearers were Lee Clouse, Charles Rahm, Charles Clouse, Henry Krause, Albert Schutte and George Cleveland. Flower girls were Dorothy and Verle Duell.

Survivors are four sisters, Mrs. Ellen Clintsman of Greenwood, Wis., Mrs. Etta Shuman of Beloit, Ill., Mrs. Abbie Nord of International Falls, Minn., and Mrs. Clara Bremer of St. Paul, Minn.; a brother, Warren Barnett, of Greenwood, and several other relatives and friends. Her husband preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 1939.

Relatives and friends from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. George Duell and sons, Allen and George, of Thorp; Dorothy and Verle Duell of Marshfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Duell and sons, Kenneth and Merlin, Mr. and Mrs. George Otto and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Clouse, all of Loyal.
