Meyer, William (10 July 1878 - 20 July 1957)

William Meyer, retired town of Hull farmer, died of a heart ailment at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital Saturday night at the age of 79 years. He had been in ill health for several years. Funeral services were held in St. Mary’s Catholic church Wednesday morning at 9:03 A.M., Rev. John B. Pinion officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Pall bearers were I. M. Firnstahl, Herb Firnstahl, Louis Justman, Louis Beyerl, Nick Gierl and Jack Young.

Mr. Meyer was born in Ozaukee county on July 10, 1878, and was married at Little Kohler on May 23, 1905, to the former Magdelin Hollweck. The couple established a farm in the town of Hull after their marriage and lived there until 1944 when they moved to Colby, Wis. Mr. Meyer served the town of Hull as assessor 17 years.

Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Mardina) Arnoux of Evanston, Ill., a son, Ervin, of the town of Hull; four grand children; a sister, Mrs. Edward Voigh of Milwaukee and two brothers, Albert of Milwaukee and Edward of Fredonia. Three other brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Meyer was a member of St. Mary’s Parish and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was well known as a good Christian, and, being of a friendly and kindly disposition, was well-liked by all who knew him and will miss his friendly greetings.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Voith, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meyer, Kenneth Meyer, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Meyer and daughter, Jean, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Elsen, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lange, Mrs. Anna Meyer, all of Milwaukee; Mrs. Mervina Arnoux of Evanston, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Ed Meyer of Fredonia, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Thiesen of Belgium, Frank Meyer of Fredonia, Frank Minz of West Bend, Mrs. Celia Firnstahl and daughter, Kay, of Minneapolis, Minn., Joe Arends of Campbellsport, Mr. and Mrs. John Habermeyer of Stetsonville.
