Lulloff, Ferdinand W. (1880 - 1957)

Ferdinand W. Lulloff, age 77, founder and operator of the Lulloff Furniture Store and Lulloff Funeral Home, a member of the Clark county board of supervisors, president of the Colby State Bank, a former member of the Colby Graded School Board and alderman, died shortly after 10 o’clock last Thursday night after an illness of several months. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Zion Lutheran church, Rev. Wm. R. Christian officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. A quartet, composed of Arthur, Allen, David Friesberg and Norman Zuther, sang "Come Ye Disconsolate" and "There is an Hour of Peaceful Rest." Pall bearers were N. L. Dessloch, Vernon Loos, Fred Schwisrske, Dr. F. A. Weix, Frank Marquardt and Don Schreiber.

Mr. Lulloff was born on May 17, 1880, in the town of Green Grove and lived in this area all of his life except for several years spent at Oshkosh, Wis., and Quincy, Ill. He married Bertha Baumgart, who survives, in Milwaukee on September 21, 1910.

He served as a member of the Colby city council for many years and was clerk of the Colby Graded School board for 20 years. He was elected to the Clark county board of supervisors in 1942 and served continuously as a member on that board since that time. He had been a director of the Colby State Bank since 1944 and was president of the institution at the time of his death. He was a funeral director and furniture dealer in Colby since 1906.

An active member of the Colby Chamber of Commerce, he was keenly interested in civic and community affairs, always ready to lend a helping hand wherever needed. He was well known for his honesty and fair dealing in business affairs which was a great factor in building a fine business, and, being of a congenial and friendly disposition, he had many friends who will miss him.

Surviving, besides his widow, include a daughter, Mrs. Woodrow (Margaret) Tesmer of Colby, three grandchildren, Jeanne, John and Joyce Tesmer, and a brother, E. H. Lulloff of Tomahawk. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Out of town relatives and friends included Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Lulloff of Tomahawk, Harold Lulloff of Dodgeville, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Baumgart of Wisconsin Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Baumgart of Fifield, Mrs. Lena Prange, Mrs. Paul Manowski and Mrs. John Sullivan of Fond du Lac, Eric Ruesch, Mrs. Theodore Hartwig and Paul Steinbach of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Baird of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brenner of Thorp, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Georges, Henry Rahn and Donald Braatz of Neillsville.
