Simboli, Mary J. (10 Feb. 1940 - 21 Nov. 2008)

Mary J. Simboli, 678, of Greenwood, Wisconsin died Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at her home. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Grace United Methodist Church, Greenwood. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

GREENWOOD -- Mary "Marie" J. Simboli, 68, of Greenwood, died Nov. 21, 2008, after a brief battle with cancer.

A celebration of Marie's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church in Greenwood. Visitation will be held at the church Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Cuddie Funeral Home of Greenwood is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mary June Hollman was born Feb. 10, 1940, in Colby, the daughter of Verona (Bayuk) Hollman. She served in the U.S. Air Force from June 30, 1958, to July 31, 1959.

She was united in marriage to Walter Simboli on April 4, 1959, at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Ill. After their retirement in 1977, they moved to Greenwood. Marie worked at Neillsville Memorial Home for several years and at the Greenwood Bakery for many years. During the years, they were foster parents to more than 100 children.

She is survived by her husband, Walter, of Greenwood; a son, Tony (Sara) Simboli of Greenwood; two daughters, Angela (Theresa) Simboli of Greenwood and Lisa (Kevin) Ritter of Whitehall; two adopted daughters, Shelly Simboli of Gilman, Cynthia (Juan) Infante-Sandoval of Austin, Minn.; and 12 grandchildren.
