Cornelius, Ardyce (12 Nov. 1913 - 8 Apr. 1958)

Mrs. Elmer Cornelius, age 44, formerly of Abbotsford, Wisconsin, who operated Duke’s Motel at Marshfield with her husband since they moved to Marshfield in 1951, died at 8:45 P.M. Tuesday at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital after an illness of five months. She had been hospitalized for two days. The body will lie in state at the Hansen Funeral Home in Marshfield until Friday noon.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 P.M. at the Immanuel Lutheran church in Marshfield of which she was a member. Pastor G. M. Krueger and the Rev. F. H. Sprengler of Abbotsford will officiate. Internment will follow in Hillside cemetery.

Before moving to Marshfield, Mrs. Cornelius had spent her lifetime in Abbotsford, where she was born Nov. 12, 1913, as Ardyce Goldamer. She was graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1932 and was married June 22, 1935, in her home town. Her residence in Marshfield was at 1801 Roddis Ave.

Survivors are the widower and two sons, Tom, 10, and Charles, 6; her father, Alvin Goldamer, Abbotsford; and two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Harold (Audrey) Christensen, Mrs. Howard (Elaine) Speck and Robert Goldamer, all of Abbotsford, Wis. Her mother died four years ago. A son also preceded her in death.
