LOCAL ITEMS

Mrs. Wm. Leidholdt of Minot, N. Dakota arrived Friday for an extended visit with her son, Ralph Waller, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Engel.

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Voelker of Whittlesey spent the week end at the house of Mrs. Fred Fietense.

Bud Kleiber returned from Madison Sunday, where he had been the previous week.

Mrs. Wm. Martin, daughter, Lorraine, and son, William, spent Wednesday morning in Colby, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell Jenks and Mrs. Melvin Blake, daughter, Lois, and sons, Bradley and Thomas, left for Hurley and Ironwood today. Mr. Jenks will be the guest speaker at the 50th (?) anniversary of the Hurley Masonic Lodge. Mrs. Blake and children will visit her parents, Dr. and Mrs. L. A. Weaver at Ironwood. They will all return Friday.

Mrs. Edith Thompson, Mrs. George Barker and grandchildren, and Miss Althea Rilling visited friends at Chippewa Falls Saturday.

Walter Miller, who is staying with his grandparents and attending school here, spent the week end at Owen with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Miller.

Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Hoffman were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Cattanach at their home in Owen Saturday evening.

Library Club will meet Friday afternoon, Dec. 9th, in the Library. The Committee will serve. Every member is urged to be present and bring a small gift.

Rummage Sale at the Armory every Saturday from 1 to 5, sponsored by the Band and Glee Club Parents Association.

A group of neighbors surprised Mrs. P. A. Peterson Friday afternoon in honor of her birthday. Two tables of pinochle were in play with prizes being awarded to Mrs. A. J. Folstad for high score, to Mrs. Arnold Laack for low score. Mrs. P. A. Peterson received the traveling prize. Lunch was served. The guests present were Mrs. Walter Fults, Mrs. Ed Hoeft, Mrs. Walter Kuehnast, Mrs. Maxwell Jenks, Mrs. Charles Hoffman, Mrs. Arnold Laack, Mrs. Anders Folstad.

Mrs. Louis Schorer and son, Norman, spent Friday afternoon in Marshfield.

Mrs. Alfred Scheel and Mrs. Clarence Parrish and twin sons spent Monday afternoon in Marshfield.
