Arndt, Gust (16 May 1863 - 30 Apr. 1935)

Word was received here Tuesday evening of the death of Gust Arndt who died at a Madison hospital Tuesday.

A suitable obituary will be given next week.

Funeral services for Gust Arndt who died Tuesday night April 30 at the Wisconsin General hospital at Madison were conducted Friday afternoon from the First Presbyterian church with the Rev. Powell of Owen officiating. Internment took place in the Holton cemetery.

Rev. and Mrs. Powell sang "In the Garden" and "Rock of Ages."

Mr. Arndt was born in New York, May 16, 1863 and was married to Florence Sannard of Abbotsford on June 16, 1896. To this union three children were born, one son, Lawrence, preceding him in death.

The deceased and his wife moved to Abbotsford in 1906 and have made their home here ever since with the exception of living on a farm near Stetsonville for four years.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Florence Arndt, Abbotsford; two daughters, Mrs. Earl Whaples, Owen and Mrs. Fred Waldhart, Stetsonville; one sister, Mrs. Jim Perkins, St. Paul; and three brothers, Julius of Edgar, Louis of Douglas, Calif., and William of Louisiana; also five grandchildren.

The pallbearers were Louis Miller, Don Ingersoll, Walter Jackson, H. J. Amacher, Harvey Bitters and Ferdinand Marks.

Relatives from away who attended the funeral included Mrs. Jim Perkins, St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Waller, Merrill; Mrs. Gertrude Burkhardt, Wausau and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Arndt and son of Wausau.

Mr. Arndt was a loving husband and a kind father, and was held in esteem by his many friends. He will be missed greatly by his friends and many others.
