Nowobielski, John (27 DEC 1869 - 26 NOV 1947)

John Nowobielski, a resident of this community (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) since 1902 passed away at his home in the Town of Withee, of a stroke of paralysis on Nov. 26, 1947. He had reached the age of 79 years.

The deceased was born in Poland on Dec. 27, 1869. He was married there on Feb. 14, 1893 to Anna Bryja. They came to America and settled on a farm in the Town of Reseburg on Nov. 26, 1902, where they lived for many years. Several years ago he sold his large farm and moved on a small one in the Town of Withee, where he lived until death.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Alois Nowobielski of Milwaukee, one daughter, Mrs. Peter Wnek of Thorp, two brothers, Andrew and Joseph of Thorp and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. Piekarski, Rev. J. Kaim and Rev. J. Kamla at St. Hedwig’s Church at ten o’clock Saturday morning, Nov. 29th, and he was laid to rest in St. Hedwig’s Parish Cemetery. Nephews of the deceased served as pallbearers. They were: Leon, Clarence and Joe Nowobielski, Joe, John and Victory Jadernak.

Relatives and friends from out of town were here to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Alois Nowobielski and family and Mrs. Stalmaszewski of Milwaukee; Mike Bryja, Mrs. Rose Howanec of Minneapolis; Mrs. Michael Lozawski, Louis Wnek, Joe Nowobielski, Mrs. Joseph Grucelski, Anna, Helen and Edward Hmielak, Mr. Massiura and Albin Szczerbowski, general secretary of the Polish National Alliance of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jadernak, John and Victor Jadernak, Joe, Charles and August Remenus and Mary Jadernak of Gary, Indiana.
