Rowley, Dolores "Dee" (25 December 1935 - 23 November 2008)

Dolores "Dee" Rowley, 72, of Loyal died at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008.

Dolores Kowatz was born Dec. 25, 1935, in Evanston, IL, the daughter of Harry and Ada (Peterson) Kowatz. She was raised and received her education in Evanston, graduating from high school in 1953. Dee was united in marriage Jan. 8, 1954, in Evanston to Daryl E. Rowley. They moved to Loyal, where they farmed and raised their family. Besides helping on the farm, Dee held several other jobs, including driving school bus for the Loyal School District, waitressing at the K Corners Supper Club, working at Miller’s Bakery in Loyal and working at the TRG for many years. In 1990, they moved into Loyal. Her husband Daryl died May 22, 2006.

She was a very active member of the loyal United Methodist Church, a member of the Loyal American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as the district treasurer for many years, and was the Beaver Center 4-H Club leader for many years.

Dee had many interests but especially enjoyed volunteering for many different causes, fundraising for the American Cancer Society and working at the Loyal American Legion steak feeds. She loved helping people, bowling, traveling and casinos, casinos, casinos.

She will be deeply missed by her children, Kathy Pieper (Arlyn Kollmansberger) of Spencer, Julie (Dean) Milz of Loyal, JoAnn (Mike) Farnsworth of Newcastle, WY, Ron Rowley of Billings, MT, Donnie (Brenda) Rowley of Loyal, Nancy Rowley (John Sheehan) of Durango, CO, and Dan Rowley of Loyal. She is further survived by her 11 grandchildren, Penny, Angie and Mandy Pieper, Bob, Tom and Melissa Milz, Dough (Jenette) and Damon Alexander and McKenzie, Deveni and Dylan Rowley; four great-grandchildren, Tiffini Pieper and Jordan, Riley and Bradley Alexander; three sisters, Marilyn (Robert) O’Laughlin of Glenview, IL, Karalee Kowatz of Michigan and Barb Kowatz of Phoenix, AZ; and sister-in-law, Kim Kowatz of Pineville, LA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Daryl, and one brother, Harry "Buddy" Kowatz.

A celebration of Dee’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at the Loyal United Methodist Church. Rev. Mike Herdt will officiate, and inurnment will follow in the Loyal Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
