Hoff, John A. #2 (5 MAR 1929 - 29 NOV 2008)

John A. Hoff, 79, Spencer, Wisconsin, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at his home in Spencer. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Spencer, and on Thursday, Dec. 4, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church, Spencer. The Rev. Charles Stoetzel will officiate. Interment will be in the West Spencer Cemetery at a later date.

John Albert Hoff was born on March 5, 1929, in Marshfield, to Albert and Clara (nee Regele) Hoff. He attended Mannville Country School, On Oct. 6. 1954, he married Helen Kirsch, in Stratford. He worked as a dairy farmer. He was affectionately known as "Spencer’s Bullet Man," due to his large collection of ammunition. He was a true sportsman who especially enjoyed hunting, trapping and the game of baseball.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Helen Hoff, Spencer: children, Marjean (Jeff) Weichelt, Spencer, Judy Hoff, Marshfield, Jeff (Lisa) Hoff, Marshfield, Carl "Pete" (Pam) Hoff, Marshfield, Marie Hoff, Parsippany, N.J.; grandchildren, Isaac (Stephanie) Weichelt, Raven (Derrick) Derfus, Valerie Weichelt, Seth Weichelt, Niocle and Ethan Hoff; step-grandchildren, Chad Braun-Mendes, and Travis Braun; and great-grandchildren, Mckale, Vanessa, Mason, Kjersti, Oak, and Achilles.

Preceding him in death were one daughter, Katheryn; his parents; and two sisters, Marge and Irene.

Hanson-Schilling Funeral Home, Spencer, is assisting the family with arrangements.
