Mroz, Agnes (3 JUL 1948)

A beautiful wedding took place Saturday, July 3rd, 1948, when Miss Agnes Mroz, daughter of Felix Mroz of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Mr. Alex J. Bogacz, son of Mrs. Sophie Bogacz of Chicago. The Rev. Francis Piekarski performed the ceremony at St. Hedwig’s Church at a 10 o’clock mass.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her wedding gown was of slipper satin fashion with long sleeves pointed at the waist and full skirt. Appliqué work outlined one sleeve, the high necklined marquisette yoke cascaded down the front to a draped skirt revealing rows of marquisette ruffles. Her full length veil and blusher of illusion net were held in place by a dainty scalloped crown covered with scattered waxed orange blossoms. Appliqué lace outlined the edge of the veil forming a design as it fell in soft folds over her four yard train. She carried a bouquet of white roses and satin streamers centered with net and an orchid.

The bride’s sisters served as junior bridesmaids and wore yellow nylon marquisette gowns with full skirt ruffled colonial fashion and draped shoulder effect bodices. Their head pieces were fresh talisman roses and they carried bouquets of match gold satin streamers.

The three bridesmaids, Miss Sally Wayer of Chicago, Miss Alice Zuzelski of Milwaukee, and Miss Clara Szatalowicz of Thorp, wore the same gowns of sky blue and had head pieces and bouquets of red roses and blue satin streamers. All wore pearl necklaces, a gift of the bride.

The groom and ushers wore tuxedo trousers with white jackets and carnation boutonnieres. Ted Polonczyk served as best man, and Harry Stempien and Edward Bobka as ushers. All are from Chicago.

The bride’s and groom’s mothers wore summery point dresses and corsages of white carnations and pink rosebuds.

A wedding breakfast reception and dinner were held at the P.N.A. Hall.

Out of town guests were as follows: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pawlak, Mrs. Leonard Haag and daughter, of California; Mrs. Natalie O’Brien, Mr. and Mrs. Edward O’Brien and daughters of Elgin, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bertram, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mecha, Alvin, Edward and Joan Zuzelski, Mr. and Mrs. Joe and John Wargolet, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mamayek and son of Milwaukee; Mrs. Sophie Bogacz, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Knoll and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Murray O’Brien and son, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kurtz, Mr. and Mrs. J. Such, Misses Pauline Stochyra and Frances Krilbasa, Nick Estrada and John Piwoni, and Mr. and Mrs. J. Kolacki, all of Chicago.
