Rex, Betty Ann (Marriage - 13 June 1959)

Miss Betty Ann Rex, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Rex of Unity, became the bride of Kenneth Fred Blasel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Blasel of Medford, at a ceremony performed in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church in Riplinger Saturday at 1:00 P.M. The bride’s uncle, Rev. Immanuel Kuester of Oshkosh, performed the ceremony.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Mrs. Henry Kuesel on the organ, and Mrs. Duane Newman who sang, "The Lord’s Prayer," and "O Perfect Love." Bouquets of pink, green, yellow, white and blue flowers decorated the church.

Mrs. Orville Rex, the bride’s sister-in-law, attended as matron of honor. Her gown was floor-length nylon lace and net with matching lace jacket. Tiers of ruffled lace and net formed the full skirt, and the yellow of her gown was complimented by her bouquet of yellow carnations and roses with matching ribbons. Similar attire was worn by the bridesmaids, Mrs. Kenneth Bartelt of Whittlesey in green; Mrs. Harvey Neitzel of Milwaukee in pink; Miss Lois Blasel of Medford in blue; and Nancy Ramm of Medford in white as flower girl.

The bride’s gown was of imported Chantilly lace and tulle, and the full skirt designed with lace inserts. The Sabrina neckline was dotted with sequins. She carried a bouquet of pink and white roses.

The bride’s brother, Orville Rex, was best man, with Donald Craffunder of Medford, Kenneth Kuester of Milwaukee and Kenneth Bartelt of Whittlesey, as groomsmen. Ring bearer was David Kuester of Oshkosh. Ushering were Dennis Kuester of Milwaukee and Norman Glasel of Stetsonville, cousins of the bride and groom.

The reception after the ceremony was held at the home of the bride’s parents, with supper in the church basement and dancing at Kolby park pavilion. The couple will live on a farm on route 1, Medford, where the groom has a farm and mink ranch. The groom is a graduate....missing portion...

The bride graduated from the Colby High School and the Taylor County Teacher's College of Medford.  She taught school at Unity and Maplewood prior to her marriage.
