Adelaide Farrand was born Jan. 30, 1927, in Madison, the daughter of Wallace and Margaret (Lowe) Farrand. After her father died, they moved to Neillsville, where she attended school and graduated from Neillsville High School.

She was united in marriage April 1, 1945, to Arthur F. Drescher, Jr. in Iowa. They farmed on the family farm located in the Town of Grant before moving into the city of Neillsville. Art and Adelaide had a cattle hauling business, along with a taxi business and she also assisted in her mother’s beauty shop. Over the years, Art worked for Standard Oil as an agent delivering petroleum products; Addie Jean was home raising their family along with running the business out of their home. In 1990, they retired, selling their business to their daughter and son-in-law. The business is still known as Drescher Oil today.
