Gaede, Jeffrey G. (? - 10 October 2013)

On Thursday, October 10, at about 3:15 a.m., the Clark County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call of a single-vehicle crash. The vehicle was located on CTH T, approximately 2.5 miles north of the Village of Withee, Township of Hixon.

Initial investigation shows that a northbound vehicle, driven by Jeffrey R. Gaede, 54, of Withee, crossed the road, entering the west ditch. The vehicle struck a mailbox and went over a driveway, causing the vehicle to go airborne for a short distance. The vehicle then came to rest as it struck a tree.

A passenger in the vehicle, Lisa M. Gaede, 30, of Withee, was able to call for assistance and was flown to Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield for incapacitating injuries. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Clark County Coroner Richard Schleifer.

The Owen-Withee-Curtiss Fire and Ambulance Departments responded to the scene, as did the Spirit of Marshfield air medical transport. The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

Investigation is continuing into the crash. This is the seventh fatality in Clark County for 2013.
