Lesar, Joseph (Barney) #2 (14 October 1907 - 11 February 1971)

Joseph (Barney) Lesar, 63, died Thursday in West Bend. His body was brought to the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood where a rosary service was held Saturday night. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. The Rev. Michael Mertens officiated and burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Lesar was born in Ely, Minn., October 14, 1907, to Frank and Frances (Smolc) Lesar. He came with his parents to Willard in 1910 and was educated in rural schools here. On December 21, 1933, he was married to Mary Govek in Abbotsford. They lived in the Willard area where Mr Lesar did carpenter work and was substitute mailman for 42 years. In 1968 they moved to West Bend.

Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Mary Jo) Denk of Cedarburg; two sons, Mark of Boulder, Colo., and nick of Palmyra; six grandchildren; two brothers, John of Willard and Louis of Ely, Minn.; and four sisters, Mary, Frances, Anna and Agnes Lesar, all of Willard.

Pallbearers were: Frank Morgal, Frank Perushek, John Francel, John Perme, Anton Prebil and Louis Champa.
