Chambers, Barbara Amelia (16 June 1873 - 9 October 1950)

Funeral services for Mrs. Robert Chambers, 77, of Stoughton, formerly of Neillsville, were held on Wednesday afternoon, October 11, from the funeral home at Stoughton with the Rev. Alfred Swan officiating. Graveside services were conducted by the members of the Eastern Star of Stoughton. She was a member of the local chapter. Burial was made in the cemetery at McFarland. She died on Monday, October 9, 1950, at the Community Hospital at Stoughton.

Barbara Amelia Deutsch was born at Neillsville June 16, 1873, to Carl and Wilhelmina Deutsch. She was a member of the class of 1890 of the Neillsville High School and for 18 years taught in the rural and graded schools in and near Clark County.

She was married at Neillsville on April 28, 1908, to Robert Chambers of Holcomb. They resided for a time in Neillsville and in 1914 moved to Holcomb. In 1924 they moved to Madison and for the past 15 years have lived at Stoughton, RR1.

She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mae (Mrs. Floyd Ladd) of Gary, Ind., and Beth (Mrs. Eugene York) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Another daughter, Nellie (Mrs. William Aschterberg) preceded her in death. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a brother, G. C. Deutsch, of Neillsville. Two brothers, Edward and Ferdinand, preceded her in death.

Local persons attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Gus Deutsch of Neillsville, and Mrs. Norman Larkin and Mrs. Alma Blackworth of Black River Falls.
