Novak, George (10 APR 1882 - 11 JUL 1950)

Last rites were conducted by Rev. Jerome Kamla at St. Mary’s (Czestochowa) Church at Junction (Clark Co., Wis.) at 9:30 Friday morning, July 14 for George Novak, 68, who died at the Stanley hospital, July 11, 1950, of injuries received when he fell from a ladder in the hay mow on his farm in the Town of Taft.

The deceased was born in Poland on April 10, 1882. He resided at New York and Chicago before locating on a farm northwest of Thorp, which was his home until death.

Surviving are his wife and three sons, Eddie of Thorp and John and Robert at home; four daughters, Frances, Mrs. Ray Wiech of Chicago; Virginia, Mrs. Louis Lean, Gilman, Celia, Mrs. Merl Samplowski of Stanley and Ruby Novak at home; four brothers, Frank of Chicago, Louie of Thorp, Walter of Green Bay and Leo of Thorp; three sisters, Mary, Mrs. Steve Chichocki of Green Bay; Anna, Mrs. Andrew Syryczuk of Lublin and Kate, Mrs. Louis Jandro of Hollywood, Calif. His parents and one daughter, Anna, preceded him in death.

He was laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were Walter Horounziak, Emil Turbae, Edward Depa, John Pacholski, Chester Wisz and Felix Staszkowski.
