Shirley, Wendell E. (1913? - 1 NOV 1950)
Wendell E. Shirley, 37-year-old Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.) farmer, was killed instantly last Wednesday about 6 p.m. when the pickup truck he was driving piled into a ditch along County Trunk O southwest of Greenwood (Clark Co.).
Ivan Hallen, 51, a neighbor of Shirley who was riding with him, was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield.
Shirley and Hallen were returning home after working on a ping house on Hallen’s farm when the accident occurred According to Coroner John Bergeman, who investigated the accident, Shirley apparently lost control of the truck and swerved into the ditch.
