Colby - Mar. 9, 1961

George Tesmer returned home from the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital where he had been a patient.

Norbert Schraufnagel is a patient at the Stanley Rest Home where he is reported to be in serious condition.

George Kobs returned from the Veteran’s Hospital at Wood where he had been receiving medical treatments.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. William Johnson of Colby, Route 2, at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital March 7th.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schwantes accompanied Lester Safemaster and daughters, Judy and Susie, to Madison over the week-end.

Mr. and Mrs. James P. Wilde, Jr., of Colby accompanied the latter’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Anderson of Dorchester, to Muskego where they spent the week-end with relatives.

Army Pvt. Gerald L. Lenz, age 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lavern M. Lenz of Colby, Route 2, recently arrived in Korea and is now serving with the First Calvary Division’s 40th Armor. The First is the only U.S. division presently manning a front line in Korea. Lenz, who received basic and advanced individual training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., is assigned to the Armor’s Company D. The 1960 Colby High School graduate worked for the Colby Cheese Box Company before entering the U.S. Army in August.
