Hackel, Imogene (Marriage - 13 May 1961)

Miss Imogene Hackel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hackel of Colby, and Dale Apfelbeck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Apfelbeck of Colby, exchanged marriage vows Saturday at a 10 o’clock High Mass in St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. James Stauber officiating at the ceremony.

The bride was attired in a white chapel-length gown of Swiss embroidery on tulle worn over net and satin. The rose-patter embroidery covered the fitted bodice fashioned with a scalloped Sabrina neckline and short sleeves and deep handkerchief pointed formed the bouffant over-skirt, with matching gauntlets and crystal headpiece and crystal choker. She carried a white orchid and lily of the valley on a lace-covered Bible.

The maid of honor, Miss Eleanor Hackel of Colby, sister of the bride, and the bridesmaid, Miss Mary Ann Miller, wore identical gowns of silk organza over lace bodice, bow trim side front, ballerina, sea green, crystal headpiece and crystal chokers. Their colonial bouquets consisted of pink sweethearts and white carnations with stephanotis.

Joe Apfelbeck of Colby, brother of the groom, was best man and Bernard Hackel of Milwaukee, brother of the bride, was groomsman. Joe Hackel and William Apfelbeck ushered.

The dinner was served in St. Mary’s hall, the reception was held at the Colby city hall and a dance was given at the Dorchester Memorial Hall in the evening.

The bride, a 1954 graduate of Colby High School, had been employed by the Allen-Bradley Co. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The groom, a 1953 graduate of Colby High School, is a service station attendant. The couple will make their home on Route 2, Colby, Wis.
