Meacham, Fred E. (2 July 1888 - 8 February 1951)

Funeral services for Fred Meacham, 62, Loyal, R. 1 were held on Tuesday February 13, from the Methodist Church in Loyal. Burial was made in the Spencer Cemetery. He died on Thursday at his home.

Mr. Meacham was born July 2, 1888 at Conde, S. D. and came to Wisconsin with his parents at the age of 8. He was educated in rural school in South Dakota and Wisconsin and also attended the Loyal High School.

He returned to work in South Dakota as a young man. Later he came back to Wisconsin with his brother Frank with a team of horses in a covered wagon.

He served for 16 years as clerk of the Town of Unity, Wis.

Surviving are his wife and four children, Vernon, Spencer; Mrs. Chris (Norma) Oestreich, Loyal; Mrs. Glenn (Virginia) Oestreich, Loyal; and Pvt. Jesse Meacham, Fort Campbell, Ky. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, a sister and two brothers.
