Math and science teacher Andres Brehm nominated Blair for he Student of the Quarter award.

"Sadie is a perfect example of an exceptional student and leader," Brehm said. "She is a hard worker who is determined to achieve the vision she has set for her future. She believed in Commitment , hard work and integrity. I fully endorse her as Student of the Quarter.

Her leadership skills are backed up for four years of commitment in the Student Senate and four years as a class officer. She also participates in Spanish Club, National Honor Society, FBLA, FFA, softball and volleyball. Sadie has sold fruit to support the FFA, has volunteered at middle school lock-ins and continues to change the school sign.

"Because of this, students in the Abbotsford school system are given the best opportunity to learn," she said. "The teachers always encourage us to do our best. The recent passing of the school referendum shows how much the community supports and values education."

Sadie was asked to identify a world problem and offer a solution.

"I would confront the problem of poverty," she said. "It’s hard to imagine that her are people who don’t have food, water or shelter in a world with such great opportunities. I would like to see all people be able to provide for their families and live in a healthy environment."

Sadie is the daughter of Doug and Sara Blair, Abbotsford, Wis.
