Valek, Anna #2 (11 NOV 1944)

Miss Anna Valek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Valek of West Allis, and Franklin Domine, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Domine of Loyal, were married at St. Augustine’s Catholic church in West Allis at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11. The double ring ceremony was used.

The bride, who entered on the arm of her father, was gowned in Lace-trimmed white satin, Styled with a long train. He fingertip veil was caught to a band of pearls, and her jewelry was pearls. She carried a rosary and a bouquet of sweet peas and baby chrysanthemums.

Mrs. George Lanen, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. She wore a gown of orchid and a shoulder length veil caught to a plume. Her bouquet was of mixed flowers. Mr. Lanen was best man.

The bridesmaids were Mrs. Arthur Domine, sister-in-law of the groom, who wore a gown of aqua, Miss Mary Babich, who wore yellow, and Miss Marian Videkovich, who wore pink. All wore veils and carried bouquets similar to that of the matron of honor, and all wore pearls which were gifts of the bride.

Other attendants were Edward Shupe, nephew of the groom, and Elmer Gall and Leo Frei, cousins of the groom.

Little Karen Shober, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Shober and a niece of the groom was flower girl. She wore a floor length dress of pink taffeta and a shoulder length veil and carried sweet peas and roses.

Delmaine Schwellenbach, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Schwellenbach of Christie and a nephew of the groom, was ring bearer. Dressed in a blue coat and white trousers, he carried a cane decorated with flowers and ribbons to which the rings were attached.

Breakfast and supper were served to about 150 guests at St. Augustine church hall. The hall was decorated with white flowers, white streamers, and a white wedding bell and large wedding cake centered the dining table. In the evening a wedding dance was given in the church hall, and a buffet lunch was served at midnight.

For the wedding the bride’s mother wore a suit of blue and old rose, and the groom’s mother wore a suit of light blue.

The bride was employed as a sales lady in a West Allis store. The groom is engaged in defense work.

Mr. and Mrs. Domine will be at home to their friends at 6122 West Main street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Among those from away who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Domine and son, Edward, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gall, Mrs. Tony Shober, Leo Frei, and Evelyn Shupe of Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Schwellenbach of Christie; and Mrs. George Frei of Neillsville.

The Loyal Tribune extends to the young couple its wishes for happiness.
