Thorn, Florence (Marriage - 23 Jan. 1941)

Miss Florence Thorn, daughter of Mrs. Rose Thorn, Colby, was united in marriage in a simple ceremony to Clarence Weetz, son of Mrs. Emma Weetz in the rectory of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby, Friday evening, Jan. 23. The Rev. L. J. Lang read the marriage service at seven o’clock.

A dress of powder blue with matching accessories was worn by the bride and one of aqua was worn by her sister, Mrs. Kenneth Olstinski, who was her only attendant. Alois Gabriel was the best man.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother. About twenty guests were present. Mr. and Mrs. Weetz spent a brief honeymoon at Winona, Minn., and returned to their perspective positions. The groom is employed at the H. K. Christensen office and the bride teaches at the Hixon school, Town of Holton.

Guests present at the reception included: Mrs. Emma Weetz, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Bitters and sons, Miss Audrey Goldamer and Harold Christensen, Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. John Brill, Cherokee, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Olstinski, Marshfield.
