Straszkowski, Pearl B. (9 JUN 1951)

A very pretty event took place at St. Mary’s Czestochowa Church at Junction (Clark Co., Wis.), June 9th, 1951 at 9:30 a.m., when Rev. Jerome Kamla joined in holy matrimony, Leon Teclaw, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Teclaw, and Miss Pearl Barbara Straszkowski, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Jos. Straszkowski, all of Thorp.

The bride was dressed in a gown of white skinner satin with yoke and nylon net. Her fingertip veil fell from a tiara of pearls and she wore a choker of pearls and matching earrings, gifts of the groom. Her wedding bouquet was of orchids surrounded by white roses and Ivy streamers with rose buds.

Maid of honor was Ruth Straszkowski, sister of the bride, who wore a green organdy dress. Bridesmaids were Marcella Teclaw, sister of the groom, and Lillian Straszkowski, sister of the bride. Both were attired in gowns of orchid organdy with black ruffles, and carried bouquets of pink roses with ivy streamers and rose buds centered with an orchid.

The groom was attended by Felix Straszkowski, brother of the bride, and his brother, Pvt. Marion Teclaw. Both wore black tuxedos. Rosaries were the groom’s gift to his attendants and opal necklaces and earrings were the bride’s gifts to the bridesmaids and maid of honor.

Mrs. Leon Kaczmarek, the groom’s sister, was vocal soloist, and Raymond and Norbert Teclaw, brothers of the groom, sang at the Mass. Al Ciolkosz was organist.

A reception to the couple was held at Tec’s Cozy Inn near Thorp. The newlyweds left on a honeymoon to southern Wisconsin, after which they will reside in Milwaukee, where the groom is employed at the Schlitz brewery.

For her wedding trip the bride wore a suit of blue bolero style with white accessories and a red rose corsage.

Out of town guests attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wrozinski and son William and Miss Betty Frank, Miss Joyce Zarn, Miss Angeline Teclaw, Miss Regina Wechlacz, Miss Edna Selezki, all of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rygiel and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Rygiel of Boyd; Mr. and Mrs. Alois Teclaw and family of Oshkosh; Miss Gertrude Pacholski and Miss Marcella Teclaw, Eau Claire, and Pvt. Marion Teclaw of Ft. Benning, Ga.
