Tieman, Joyce E. (26 JUL 1951)

The Methodist Church at Greenwood was the setting on Thursday, July 26th, 1951 for the wedding of Miss Joyce Elaine Tieman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tieman, Jr. of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Sgt. Earl Leslie Syth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Syth, Greenwood. Rev. L. Holmes officiated at the 2:00 o’clock service.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white lace entrained marquisette gown featuring a net yoke edged with Chantilly lace, a snug fitted bodice and long sleeves. Her fingertip veil of French imported lace fell from a tiara of seed pearls. The bride’s bouquet consisted of a large orchid surrounded by tiny white flowers.

Arlene Martinson, as maid of honor, appeared in a pale green frosted organdy formal and carried a bouquet of mixed flowers.

Richard Syth was best man and Jerome Tieman of Thorp and Robert Tieman of Greenwood served as ushers.

Linda Tieman, sister of the bride, was the flower girl, attired in a white frosted organdy gown styled similar to the bride’s, and carried a bouquet of white carnations. Roger Tieman acted as ring bearer.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride will remain at the home of her parents while the groom returns to his station at Oklahoma City, Okla., where he serves with the U. S. Air Force.

Out of town guests attending the ceremony were: Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Tieman, Sr., Beloit; Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Tieman, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Syth, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Tieman, Sr. of Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Stanton Martinson and daughter, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Noah, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Johnson, Spencer.
