Sterzinger, Denise Helen (Marriage - 30 Sept. 1961)

Miss Denise Helen Sterzinger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Sterzinger of Dorchester, Route 1, formerly of the town of Colby, and George Huss, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Huss of Abbotsford, Route 1, were united in marriage in St. Louis’ Catholic church in Dorchester Saturday. Rev. Gerald F. Schuh officiated at the ceremony.

Mr. Sterzinger gave his daughter in marriage before an altar decorated with purple and white Shasta daisies and chrysanthemums in a variety of colors. The church choir provided the music for the 10:00 o’clock nuptial ceremony and mass.

Chosen by the bride for her wedding was a floor-length gown styled by a Chantilly lace bodice with scalloped square neckline trimmed with sequins and pearls, and long sleeves. The full hoop skirt had a lace front panel and tulle ruffles alternating with lace over taffeta. Her fingertip veil was caught to a crystal and pearl crown and she carried a bouquet of red roses and white pompons with fern streamers.

Bridal aides, Mrs. Robert Brown of Athens, Route 1, as matron of honor, and Miss Darlene Pfeffer of Unity and Miss Joyce Sterzinger of Eureka, Ill., bridesmaids, all wore dresses of violet colored silk organza styled by scoop necklines and cap sleeves. Cummerbunds tucked the waistlines above full skirts styled with tiers of ruffled organza in the back. Their headpieces were in matching color and their bouquets consisted of yellow pompons and white carnations.

Attending the groom were Robert Brown of Athens, Route 1, best man, with groomsmen, Roy Huss of Abbotsford and Darrel Sterzinger of Dorchester, Wis. Ushers were Leo Lofland of Abbotsford, and Donnie Feldbruegge of Dorchester, Wis.

Following church services a breakfast was served in the church hall and a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. Supper was also served in the parish hall with the dance in the evening being at Sportsmen’s Park in Colby, Wis.

The bride is a 1959 graduate of Colby High School and has been employed at the Marshfield Clinic. Her husband graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1957 and served three years in the U.S. Navy. He is employed with his father in the Huss Plumbing and Heating Company at Abbotsford, Wis.

The young couple are now on a honeymoon trip to Canada.
