Micke, Barney (6 SEP 1870 - 26 NOV 1951)

Barney Micke, 81, of Stanley, passed away at the Victory Memorial Hospital in that city after a lingering illness.

The deceased was born in Hollandtown, Wis., on Sept. 6, 1870. In 1896 he was united in marriage to Barbara Bohman at Billion, Wis., and the couple moved that year to a farm in the town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.).

They retired from the farm in 1937 and moved to the city of Stanley. Mrs. Micke died in Feb. 1949.

Surviving are three sons, Joseph of Owen, Anthony of Thorp and Clarence of Gilman; one daughter, Mrs. Ben (Mildred) Kmiec of Greenwood; three brothers, Anton of Thorp, Henry of Forest Junction, and William of Kaukauna; two sisters, Miss Elizabeth Micke of Maple Grove and Mrs. Mary Nytes of Kaukauna. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Three sons and one daughter preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 9:30 o’clock from St. Ann’s Church, Stanley, with Rev. Edwin Knauf officiating. Interment was in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
