Herrmann, Alfred G. (3 Apr. 1886 - 18 June 1941)

Alfred G. Herrmann, 55, of the Town of Colby, died at 7 o’clock Wednesday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where he had been a patient since May 27.

Death was caused by a heart attack. Mr. Herrmann had been recovering satisfactorily after an appendectomy performed two weeks ago.

Mr. Herrmann, son of Gustave Herrmann, was born in the Town of Colby, April 3, 1886, and attended rural schools in that vicinity. He was married June 22, 1921, to Miss Elsie Volkman in St. John’s Evangelical church, Colby, Wis. Since his marriage he had resided on a farm three miles west of Colby, Wis.

Besides his wife he is survived by four children, Richard, Evelyn, Verna and Glenn, all at home; a brother, Oscar, Town of Colby; and two sisters, Mrs. Edwin Zillman, Town of Colby, and Mrs. Charles Schmidt, of Milan. Another brother, William, died three years ago.

The body is lying in state at the Co-operative Funeral Home, Marshfield, and will be taken to the home Friday afternoon. Funeral rites will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 1:15 o’clock at the home, and at 2 o’clock at the church hall, Colby, Wis. The Rev. S. A. Schmiechen will officiate, and internment will take place in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.
