Wahl, Lida (2 July 1884 - 14 June 1951)

Mrs. Edward Wahl died at her home on 252 South Grand Avenue on Thursday evening at 9:30. She attained the age of 66 and had been in ill health for several years.

The body lay in state at the Georgas Funeral Home and was taken to the Methodist Church for final services Saturday. Interment was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery with the Rev. Virgil Nulton officiating.

Mrs. Wahl, nee Lida Phillips was born on July 2, 1884, to Charles and Eliza Phillips at Bear Creek, Wis. She received her education there and at the Marathon County Normal at Wausau. She was engaged in teaching for several years. On August 23, 1905, she was married to Edward Wahl at Ingersoll, Wis. They moved to Neillsville later and have made this their home for 35 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church, the Women’s Society of Christian Service Study Club and was a member for many years of the Presbyterian Missionary Society.

She is survived by her husband, four children, Mrs. Marion Feirn of Neillsville, Mrs. C. E. (Edna) Taylor of New Orleans, La., Mrs. George (Ruth) White of Neenah and Mrs. Alice Aguila of Ottuma, Ia., four grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Addie) Burdick of Milwaukee and Mrs. Robert (Elsie) Clark of Prentice.

Pallbearers were: Charles Seif, Charles Poole, Adolph Unger, Albert Jahr, David Phillips and Ernest Burdick.

Mary Ann and Helen Smith sang two selections accompanied by Mrs. Virgil Nulton at the piano.

Persons from out of town attending the rites included Mrs. C. E. Taylor of New Orleans, La., Mrs. Alice Aguila and George Aguila of Ottuma, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Burdick of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schoenfeldt and sons of La Crosse, Alice Phillips of Madison, Charles Phillips of Marshfield, Walter and Lewis Phillips of Waupaca, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Wahl, Oak Park, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Art Wahl of Chicago, Mrs. Walter Haupt and son James, Wittenburg, Mr. and mrs. Allen Hendrickson, Cornell, and Mr. and Mrs. John Ewer of Clintonville, Wis.
