Weller, Martha (15 Aug. 1877 - 5 Apr. 1962)

Mrs. Martha Weller of Colby, Wisconsin died Thursday, Apr. 5, at the age of 84 years at the Bethel Convalescent Home in Arpin where she had been a resident the past five years. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Zion Lutheran church in Colby, Wis., Rev. William Christian officiating, and internment was made in the Colby Memorial cemetery (Colby, Wisconsin). Pall bearers were John Marx, Carl Prange, Malcom Lamont, George Kowalk, Ted Baumgart, Otto Baumgart.

Martha Buchholz was born on August 15, 1877, in the town of Colby, Wis. She married Henry Weller in Colby, Wisconsin on May 23, 1897. After their marriage, they operated a farm in the town of Hull until the death of Mr. Weller in May, 1943, when she moved to the city of Colby, Wis. From 1953 until 1958 she lived with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kanter, in the town of Hull. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Sewing Circle and Zion Lutheran Ladies’ Aid.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Ella) Kanter of Abbotsford; two sons, Walter of Wauwatosa and Clarence of Abbotsford; nine grand children; eight great grand children and three brothers, August Buchholz of Curtiss and Carl and Arthur Buchholz of Owen. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a grand son.
