Graduates of St. Mary’s Honored at Breakfast
Eighth grade graduates of St. Mary’s Catholic School and members of the parish who are graduates of Colby High School this year, were honored guests at a breakfast served at the school gym on Sunday morning, May 20. Following the meal a short program was held with an opening prayer by Father John Pinion. Robert Dums, as master of ceremonies, introduced guests present: Harold Schumaher, high school guidance director, Mrs. Arthur Wiedenhoeft, Mrs. Lawrence Allmann and Miss Jean Berg, of St. Mary’s faculty. Miss Bette Jicinsky then sang "Graduation Day," Miss Carole Kassie spoke for the eighth grade and Miss Mary Ann Baumgart for the senior class. Father Hilary Seubert, a member of the faculty of Holy Cross Seminary, La Crosse, then addressed the graduates. Miss Jicinsky sang "I Love Thee, O Mary" and Father Pinion offered the closing prayer.

Graduation diplomas were distributed on Wednesday evening in St. Mary’s church at the services in honor of the Queen of May. A Living Rosary formed by girls of the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grades and the Mass servers led the praying of the Rosary.
