Stewart, Hazel Alvera (Marriage - 20 Sept. 1941)

Miss Hazel Alvera Stewart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Stewart of Withee, became the bride of William A. Fahrenbach Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William Fahrenbach of Curtiss, in a ceremony performed by the Rev. M. C. Goetsch on the lawn at the home of the bride’s parents at 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Sept. 20. A white archway covered with roses formed a fragrant setting for the exchange of vows.

The bride was costumed in a white silk entrained marquisette gown worn over satin, and she wore a three-strand pearl necklace. Her fingertip veil fell from a coronet of seed pearls, and white lilies, gardenias, and ferns fashioned her bouquet.

A dress of pale green marquisheer was chosen by the maid of honor, Miss Amelia O’Konski, and a headband of fresh flowers and a pearl necklace, a gift of the bride, completed her ensemble. Her bouquet contained roses and asters.

Miss Evelyn Fahrenbach, sister of the groom, attended as bridesmaid.

Leo Stewart, brother of the bride, was the best man, and Herbert Fahrenbach, also acted as the groom’s attendant.

The wedding march from "Lohengrin" was played by Mrs. William Gautsche, and "I Love You Truly" was sung by Mrs. Henry Thorson.

Friends and relatives attended a buffet supper and a wedding dance was held in the evening at the Merry Ol’ Gardens.

Mr. and Mrs. Fahrenbach left on a two weeks’ wedding trip to the Black Hills, and will reside in Curtiss upon their return. The former is the operator of a tavern and meat market in Curtiss.

The bride was graduated from the Withee High School in 1935 and the Omaha, Neb., business college in 1937. She has been employed in Chicago for the past three years. Mr. Fahrenbach attended high school in Abbotsford, Wis.

Guests from away who attended the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Fahrenbach, Miss Margaret Fahrenbach, Chicago; Miss Evelyn Fahrenbach, Whitewater; Miss Minnie Fahrenbach, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Bud Warriner and daughter, Doris, Sparta; Miss Viola O’Konski, Chicago.
