Rose, George James (15 April 1873 - 3 September 1951)

George James Rose, 78, died of a heart attack on Monday morning at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Axelsen of Marshfield.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday at two o’clock from the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton with the Rev. Virgil Nulton officiating. Burial was made in the Windfall Cemetery.

Mr. Rose was born April 15, 1873, in Glenbeulah, Wis. He spent his early childhood there. On June 27, 1900 he was married to Ida May Grove at Plymouth, Wis. They spent their entire married life near Granton. After Mrs. Rose’s death in January 1947, and his daughter Elva’s death, he moved to Marshfield to make his home with his daughter and son-in-law. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Axelsen, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

One brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
