Poppe, Ethel M. (Marriage - 22 September 1951)

Miss Ethel M. Poppe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Poppe, became the bride of Wilmer E. Kroll, son of Edward Kroll, at a ceremony performed on Sept. 22 at 2 o’clock at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Globe. The Rev. Adolph Schumann performed the double ring ceremony before 75 guests.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was gowned in a traditional white satin floor-length gown, which was fashioned with long pointed sleeves, a bodice dipping to a V in front and a rippling tunic, leading into a long train. The bodice, tunic and train were trimmed with imported Chantilly lace. Her finger tip veil edged with Chantilly lace fell from a crown of seed pearls. She wore a three strand pearl necklace and pearl earrings. Her bridal bouquet consisted of red roses and white mums with white streamers.

Miss Vivian Hemp, a cousin of the bride, was maid of honor and Mrs. Ervin Kroll was matron of honor. They were dressed in gowns fashioned alike of dark green and coral satin. The gowns were styled with net yokes, lace edged ruffles and hoop skirts. They wore matching bonnets and mitts and carried colonial bouquets.

Mrs. Louis Dux, Mrs. Arnold Buchholz, Miss Florence Mitte and Miss Gladys Dux acted as bridesmaids. They The bride has been employed for the past two and one-half years in Neillsville.

The groom who graduated from the Neillsville High School is employed by the American Stores Dairy.

Guests from out of town attending the wedding included persons from La Crosse, Watertown, Rochester, Minn., Milwaukee, Thawville, Ill., Wausau and Columbus.
