Sorenson, Ferne (15 APR 1950)

St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church was the scene Saturday, April 15th, 1950, for the three o’clock wedding rites of Miss Ferne Sorenson and Clarence Ponto. The two were united in a lovely single ring ceremony read by the Rev. H. J. Vogel.

Miss Sorenson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Sorenson, Owen, and Clarence is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Ponto, 3683 E. Van Norman Av., Cudahy, Wis.

As Miss Sorenson stood before the altar, decorated on either side with floral bouquets, she wore a white slipper satin gown, featuring a beaded lavve Peter Pan collar and fitted bodice. Falling from the fitted bodice was a full skirt entrain. Her bridal bouquet consisted of white roses and gladioli.

The bride’s matron of honor, Mrs. Wilfred Wahlust, chose a Nile green taffeta gown with an illusion neckline. Mrs. Donald Sorenson, the bridesmaid, was seen in orchid taffeta and the flower girl, Carol Wahlust, was fashioned in yellow marquisette with ruffles.

Edward Ponto was his brother’s best man. Donald Donovan and Douglas Sorenson, brothers of the bride, performed the ushering duties.

For the eight o’clock reception, held at the groom’s home, Mrs. Sorenson greeted friends in an aqua suit, and orchid corsage. Mrs. Ponto was attired in a navy blue dress. She too, wore an orchid corsage.

The young couple honeymooned in Tennessee. Upon returning they are making their home at 3633 E. Van Norman Av.
