The Rev. J. Brandt officiated at the rites. Internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

Special unaccompanied singing of "Rock of Ages" and "Abide With Me," during the church services, was provided by a group of young people, Elsie Mueller, Inez Gust, Dorothy Kieser, Ann Preller, Maron Hoeft, Maynard Gosse, Roger Gust and Frederick Kieser. Inez Gust also was organist.

The pallbearers were Anton Kramer, Louis Beilke, Otto Hoeft, Louis Hoeft, Ben Graffunder and Joe Zugier.

The flowers were carried by the Misses Joyce Harder, Shirley Ridderbusch, Bernadine Hoeft, Mrs. Pearl Emmons and Mrs. Grace Amacher.

Simon Johnson was born Sept. 8, 1879, in the town of Holton. On Nov. 17, 1903, he married Miss Christena Hanson, from Winchester. They made their home on the farm in the town of Holton.

Last Saturday, Mr. Johnson had gone for a little rest after the noon meal before resuming the afternoon’s work. His grandson, who had been in the room with him until about 10 minutes before, came to call him when a man wanted to see Mr. Johnson on business. When he found his grandfather didn’t answer him, he called his grand mother. Death apparently was caused by a heart attack.

Surviving Mr. Johnson are the widow and one daughter, Mrs. Paul Harder, of Stetsonville, and four grand children, Gene, Shirley, Donald and Doris.

There is one brother, Herman Johnson, of Abbotsford, Route 1, and one sister, Mrs. Elias Olson, Neenah, Route 2.

Attending the funeral from away were: August Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Elias Olson, Mr. and Mrs. William Hanson, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Amunson, Sam Hanson, Mrs. Adolph Swenson, Mrs. Emma Zehner, and Otto Hanson, all of Winchester, and Mrs. Orville Emmons, of Dale.
