Caron, Tresea Rose (Marriage - 26 Sept. 1944)

Before the high altar, decorated with many cut flowers and candles, in St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby, Miss Tresea Rose Caron, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Caron, was given in marriage by her father, to M/Sgt. Edward John Duellman, son of Henry Duellman, Abbotsford, Tuesday morning. The Rev. Leo Lang read the marriage service before the nuptial high mass at 9:00 o’clock.

For the occasion the bride wore a white ivory satin gown designed with a snug bodice and sweetheart neck line, long sleeves and long train. The long, flowing veil, with its Spanish lace trimming, fell from a beaded head dress. She wore a gold cross and chain, a gift of the bride groom, and carried a shower bouquet of white roses.

Miss Jeanette Caron, of Detroit, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Her pink taffeta frock was made with a snug bodice and net covered the full taffeta skirt. She wore a matching net hat with long streamers and carried a bouquet of pink tea roses with ribbon showers. The gold cross and chain, which she wore, was a gift of the bride.

Miss Jakie Hoffman and Miss Virginia Firnstahl, as bridesmaids, were gowned alike in frocks of blue with jersey bodices and net over taffeta skirts. They wore pearl necklaces, the gifts of the bride, blue net hats with long streamers and carried bouquets of yellow tea roses and gladioli.

Miss Shirley Seidel and Miss Patricia Gierl, nieces of the groom, were junior bridesmaids. They wore floor length dresses of white satin and veils and carried baskets of flowers.

Attending his brother as best man was Paul Duellman, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Matt Duellman, another brother, and Clarence Christ, were ushers.

Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride’s parents. About 60 guests were served dinner and supper at a reception in St. Mary’s gymnasium and a wedding dance was held at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion in the evening.
