T/Sgt. Wendelin F. Schommer entered the service on Nov. 24, 1942 and received his honorable discharge at Camp Grant, Ill., Nov. 16. He served as Weapons Platoon sergeant in the campaign in Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe.

He has the following decorations and citations: two overseas service bars, Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Citation, American campaign medal, European-African-Middle Eastern theatre ribbon, four Bronze Battle Stars and Exp. Inf. And Combat Inf. Badges.
