Glowacki, Thomas (1927? - 27 AUG 1950)
Clark County’s eighth highway fatality of the year occurred at 11:30 Sunday night when Thomas Glowacki, 23, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away at the Victory Hospital, Stanley, from injuries sustained in an accident.
While traveling in an easterly direction two miles west of Stanley on Highway 29 at about 11 p.m. Sunday, the right wheel of Glowacki’s car dropped off on the shoulder of the road, causing him to lose control of his vehicle, according to the investigating officers. The car came to rest after overturning in the center of the highway, 282 feet from the point where the right wheels first left the concrete.
Glowacki was thrown 36 feet clear of the wreckage.
