Nelson, Elmer (18 APR 1886 - 8 NOV 1951)

At two o’clock Saturday afternoon, Nov. 10, 1951, funeral services were conducted from the Griebenow Funeral Parlors for Elmer Nelson, 65. The Rev. H. D. Wagner, pastor of the Alliance Chapel, officiated at the services. Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bill Behling, Mike Behling, David McVey, Ernest Duval, Marvin Sveum and Neal Hansen. Those in charge of flowers were Louise Nowak, Scotch Copper, Dorothy Klabon and Mary Jensen.

Elmer Nelson was born in the city of Sycamore, DeKalb Co., Ill., on April 18, 1886. He resided in that vicinity until 1927 when he moved to Kansas City, Mo. In 1932 he was united in marriage to Martha Lambert continuing to make their home in Kansas City until 1934. At that time the two then settled on a farm nine miles north of the village of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), residing here until his death on Nov. 8th, 1951. He had been in poor health for the past six months and was hospitalized at the Wis. General Hospital, Madison, at the time of his death.

Left to grieve his passing are his widow, Martha; one son, Lawrence of Sycamore, Ill.; a daughter, Lois Olson, Everett, Wash.; and two granddaughters, Lonna and Linda Nelson, Sycamore, Ill.
