Hannah, Charles #2 (17 AUG 1940 - 24 APR 1907)

Charles James Hannah was born Aug. 17, 1840 at St. George, Canada. On Nov. 3, 1862 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary A. Boon, and in 1869 he came to Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.). He entered the employ of Robt. Ross, for whom he ran camp for many years. In 1874 he moved to his farm near Christie, where he resided until his death occurred on April 14, 1907. The conduct of the farm was in the hands of his sons, for he preferred to continue logging and lumbering operations.

His wife and son, William, who lives on the home place, James and Robert of Portland, Oregon, Mrs. George La Fleur, Mrs. Will Hurlburt, Mrs. Oscar Northup, Mrs. John Garvin of Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. Geo. Barr of Lacomb, Oregon, survive to mourn his demise. The funeral occurred Friday afternoon, Rev. Hendren officiating, interment being made at Christie Cemetery.

Mr. Hannah was a citizen of exceptional enterprise and energy. He was associated with many of the early Clark County loggers, and his memory will remain with those of his old associates who survive him.
