Short, Alice #2 (12 FEB 1848 - 16 DEC 1908)

Last Wednesday afternoon Mrs. Alice Short died at her home at Shortville (Clark Co., Wis.) after a few days illness. The funeral was held Saturday, Rev. Chapman officiating. Mrs. Short was born Alice Kershaw in Massachusetts and when a small girl moved to Whitewater, Wis. with her parents. On March 15, 1868 she was united in marriage to Geo. Short and two years later they came to Clark County and settled at Sherwood Forest. Here they made their home for two years and then moved onto the farm at Shortville, which had ever since been their home.

Mrs. Short was a lady of most exemplary traits. She was refined and in her conduct was always kind and charitable. She lived a Christian and conscientious life and the memory of her good deeds will long live after her. Mr. Short died on Aug. 2, 1908. Two daughters survive her, Mrs. Geo. Bue and Mrs. Wm. Meddaugh, and also one sister, Mrs. Geo. Richmond of Janesville.
