Schultz, Carmen Ruth (Marriage - 17 May 1947)

 

On Saturday afternoon, May 17, Miss Carmen Ruth Schultz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Schultz, became the bride of Clyde Laverne Broeske, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Broeske, at Christ Lutheran church. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler read the marriage service at 1:30 in the afternoon.

 

With her entrained white satin gown the bride wore white velvet slippers. Her long, lace edged veil fell from a head dress of pearls and rhinestones. She carried a shower bouquet of lilies, roses and snapdragons.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Leichtnam, brother-in-law and sister of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Armin Gruenke, brother-in-law and sister of the groom of Marshfield, attended the couple. Raejean Novak, Abbotsford, Bonnie Fischer, Colby, nieces of the bride, were flower girls.

 

Mrs. Leichtnam, as matron of honor, wore a frock of pink rayon crepe with a floral wreath and veil. Mrs. Gruenke wore a pink taffeta frock with a similar veil. They carried shower bouquets of lilies and roses. The flower girls were alike in white net dresses, floor length and carried miniature shower bouquets of lilies and roses.

 

The bride’s mother had a dress of robin egg blue and the groom’s mother wore flowered rayon. Both mothers wore corsages of pink and white carnations.

 

About 100 guests attended the reception and supper held at the home of the bride’s parents, decorated with streamers of white, pink and blue, fastened to wedding bells. In the evening a wedding dance was held at the Trianon ball room.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Broeske left on a wedding trip to Crystal Cave, Rochester, Minn., and points along the Mississippi. They are making their home on the groom’s farm north west of Abbotsford, Wis.
