Lewis, Margaret Gertrude (30 March 1935 - 22 April 2009)

Margaret Lewis, 74, of Neillsville died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.

Margaret Gertrude Reber was born March 30, 1935, in Loyal, the daughter of Walter and Julia (Klug) Reber. At the age of two months she moved with her parents to Neillsville where her dad purchased a Swiss Cheese Factory in the Town of Grant. When she was five her parents were divorced, so she was raised by loving grandparents and attended all eight grades and graduated after four years in Neillsville High School in 1953. She then worked four years at the Clark County Agency. Margaret married Darol Lewis of Augusta June 18, 1955. They were married 53 years, farmed over 40 years and raised four sons. She loved growing flowers, big gardens, sewing children’s clothes and needlework. Later, she worked 12 years at Fannies Supper Club, retiring to care for Darol who was ill with diabetes. Her family was the "light of her life" and she loved being called Grandma.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Darol; two sons, Todd (Sue) and Bradley (Bernadette); a daughter-in-law, Marcia; three grandsons, Joshua, Travis and Craig; three granddaughters, Pamela (Scott) Sill, Amanda Lewis and Courtney Lewis; two great-granddaughters, Alexis Sill and Makayla Sill; and two great-grandsons, Benjamin Sill and Conner Lewis.

She was preceded in death by two sons, David and Glen; one brother, Richard Reber; her parents and grandparents.

Funeral services for Margaret were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2009, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville with visitation from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Pastor Douglas Bjerke officiated. Interment was in the Town of Grant Cemetery.

Casketbearers were Joshua Lewis, Craig Lewis, Travis Taylor, Scott Sill, Dennis Buchholz and Benny Heck.
