The Grace Lutheran Church of Eau Claire was the setting for a beautiful wedding on Saturday July 5th, 1952 at 4"00 p.m. when Mary Ann Pagel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis J. Page Sr., Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., exchanged vows with Robert C. Groettum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence A. Groettum, Eau Claire, Wis. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. J. N. Quello.

The church altars were decorated with candles and mixed bouquets on each side of alter. Miss Elaine Groettum, Eau Claire, sister of the groom, sang "Oh Lord Most Holy" and "The Benediction."

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her gown was a lovely white satin floor length, lace bodice and peplum, shoulder cap of satin and lace trim. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a hat of white satin with pearls. Her jewelry consisted of a one strand of pearls and earrings, gift of the groom. Her bridal bouquet was colonial style, an orchid in center surrounded by white carnations and baby breath.

Mrs. A. Leskinen of Eau Claire, sister of the bride, was chosen maid of honor. Her gown was of white taffeta with white net overskirt.

Miss Betty Dudansky of Thorp, niece of the bride, and Mrs. Mary Ann Pagel of Eau Claire, sister-in-law of the bride, served as bridesmaids. Their dresses were of yellow taffeta with yellow net overskirt. Dresses were all designed alike.

Miss Soni Kay Leskinen of Eau Claire, niece of the bride, was chosen as flower girl. Her gown was of white organdy. The attendants all carried colonial style bouquets of purple mums center with yellow carnations outside. Their headpieces were of purple mums and yellow carnations.

Mr. Herbert Groettum of Eau Claire, brother of the groom, attended as best man. He wore a summer tuxedo.

Mr. Fred Pagel of Eau Claire, brother of the bride, and Mrs. Lester Gorder of Minneapolis, friend of the groom, served as groomsmen. They wore summer tuxedos.

Master Paul Brandt served as ring bearer. He wore a summer tuxedo.

The groom wore a summer tuxedo. They all wore white carnation boutonnieres.

The groom’s cousin, James Groettum of Eau Claire and the bride’s cousin Gordon Hansen of Thorp, were ushers. They wore summer tuxedos.

The bride’s mother wore a pink silk dress with white accessories and a corsage of white carnations.

The groom’s mother wore a pink lace dress with pink accessories and a corsage of white carnations.

The groom’s grandmother was present.

A 5:00 o’clock reception was held in the Grace Lutheran Parlors for 200 guests. The bridal table was decorated with a beautiful three tier wedding cake and bouquet of flowers.

Out of town guests included Mrs. Anton Luer and daughter Toni Ann, Mr. and Mrs. Joe LeBeau of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pagel and daughter Judy, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pagel of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Sigurid Leskinen and and son of Madison and Miss Mary Pagel, R.N. of Madison; Pfc. And Mrs. Theron Pagel, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Danielewicz and family, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pagel Jr. and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Stelter and faugher, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bohn, all of Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Julius Groettum, Miss ada Groettum, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Heller, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hillner, Mrs. erie Andre, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Ordes, Rev. and Mrs. Carl Groettum of La Crosse.

They honeymooned through southern Wisconsin and Chicago, Ill. The couple will make their home at 1710 Goff Ave., Aprt. 14, Eau Claire.

The groom is a graduate from Southwest High School, Minneapolis, and Luther College, Decorah, Iowa. The groom is President of Clarence A. Groettum Printing, Eau Claire.

A free wedding dance was held at the American Legion Hall, Thorp, Wis.
