Strzok, Margaret (11 MAY 1953)

On Monday, May 11, 1953 at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Miss Margaret Strzok, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Strzok, became the bride of Mr. Chester Mroz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Felix Mroz, at a 10:00 o’clock Nuptial Mass with Rev. Francis Piekarski officiating.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a sheer floor length nylon dress over burmil satin with a full skirt edged with cascades of ruffled center front with some lace bordering train. The fitted bodice was fashioned with a square neckline and Chantilly lace long sleeves. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a lace half hat and she carried a bouquet of white gardenias centered with an orchid. The bride placed a bouquet of gladiolas on the Blessed Virgin altar. She wore a rhinestone necklace and earring set, a gift of the groom.

Acting as maid of honor was Joan Nowobielski, who wore a gown of green taffeta fitted strapless bodice insert of pleated nylson net at the front with jacket and full skirt with a double overskirt of net and matching hat. Bridesmaids were Alice Strzok, Alice Mroz, Delores Jandrt, Theresa Mroz and Virginia Swiontek. The bridesmaids wore identical gowns of orchid and carried heart shaped bouquets of yellow carnations. They received lockets as a gift of the bride.

Serving as best man was Clarence Mroz. Wallace Lukasiewicz, Chester Strzok, Edward Neiman and Marion Wnek served as groomsmen. They wore black tuxedos.

The mother of the bride wore a navy blue dress with white accessories. They both wore corsages of pink carnations.

The reception was held at the parish hall for 300 relatives and friends.

The bride is a graduate of the Thorp High School and is employed at the Thorp Finance Corp. The groom is employed at the Bergstrom’s Auto Sales at Owen, Wis. After a two week honeymoon in California, the newlyweds will reside in Thorp.

Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. George Strzok, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Al Bogacz, Chicago; Mrs. Al Bertram and family of Milwaukee; Theresa Mroz of Milwaukee; Mrs. Martin Przesmicki, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Zuber and family, Colby, and Miss Alice Zuzelski, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
