Graffunder, Du Wayne (7 Sept. 1937 - 11 Aug. 1947)

Funeral services for Du Wayne Graffunder, nine-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Gayhart Graffunder, town of Holton, whose accidental death occurred on Aug. 11, were held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and at 2:00 o’clock at St. Peter’s Lutheran church at Dorchester, Wis. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiated at the rites.

At the services at the home, Gordon Leonhardt sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," a favorite hymn of Du Wayne. Music at the church was furnished by Mr. Leonhardt and Mrs. Walter Baehr.

Internment was made in Memorial cemetery at Dorchester, Wis.

The pallbearers were Gerald Pinter, Lawrence Hopfensperger, Jr., Jerome Rueden, Marvin Lueddecke, Eugene Busse, and Charles Gurney.

Flower girls were the Misses Mary Ann Pinter, Joyce Bostad, Lois Stettler, Julia Hopfensperger, Merna Krause, Madell Jolivette, Betty Oehler and Darlene Dake.

Du Wayne Graffunder was born Sept. 7, 1937.

Survivors besides his parents, are two brothers, Walter, 14, and Ronald, 11; and a sister, Janice Marie, five months. Also surviving are his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Seth Barker, of Park Falls, and Mrs. Elizabeth Graffunder, Dorchester, Wis.

Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Seth Barker, Park Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Graffunder and son, Arlan, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hardinger, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Barker and family, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Oehler and family, Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Zenker and Fred Malchow, Park Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Barker, and family, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Malchow, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Graffunder and family, Medford; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Miller and family, Withee; Mrs. Anna Sprague, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Malchow, Mrs. Andrew Tauscheck, all of Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Dake and daughter, Darleen, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Dake, Athens; Mrs. Zettler, Loyal; Mrs. Millie Barker, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Bremer, Mr. and Mrs. John Bremer, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. John Bremer, Sr., of Abbotsford; Mrs. Elizabeth Graffunder, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rau, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Werner, Mr. and Mrs. William Malchow, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Reynolds, Mrs. Clifford Wettrace, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Graffunder and sons.
