Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Charles F. Schmidt, 67 years old, of Milan, who died Wednesday afternoon, are being made for Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock. The place will be decided upon after the arrival of a son from New York, Friday. The body is lying in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home at Colby, Wis.

Mrs. Schmidt had suffered a stroke in July, but was able to be up again. She suffered another stroke Wednesday, around noon, as she was preparing a meal. Death occurred enroute to Memorial hospital, Wausau, about 3:30 that afternoon.

Louise Herrmann was born at Colby May 25, 1881. She was educated in the Colby schools and for some years taught in Clark county schools. She was the first teacher in the Milan school and that same year on Oct. 25, 1905, she was married to Charles F. Schmidt, at Colby, Wis. They made their home in Milan all their married life, where Mrs. Schmidt was an active member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church and the Ladies’ Aid. For many years Mrs. Schmidt also acted as news correspondent for the Wausau Record-Herald and the Abbotsford Tribune, for the Milan community.

She is survived by her husband and three sons, Vernon, Rockford, Ill.; Galen, Buffalo, N.Y.; and Alfred, at home.

There are two grand daughters, Jana, of Rockford, and Dona, of Buffalo.

One sister, Mrs. Edwin Zillman, of Colby, also survives. Three brothers preceded her in death.
